Plot summary

After dying in a car crash, Bobby Fantana is forced to pay for his misdeeds by becoming someone's guardian angel. He reluctantly agrees to watch over awkward high schooler Lenny Barnes, teaching him how to be cool and confident. As Bobby teaches Lenny, the two form a close bond.

A forgotten 80s gem full of heart and humor! The Heavenly Kid is one of those movies you might not immediately have on your radar, but it perfectly captures the true spirit of the 80s. The blend of fantasy, coming-of-age, and romantic comedy makes it timelessly charming. The characters are wonderfully crafted: Bobby, the “cool angel,” doesn’t just teach Lenny style and confidence, but also important life lessons. Lenny’s journey from insecure outsider to confident young man is touching and makes the film much more than just another teen comedy. If you love the 80s, enjoy fantasy-romance with humor, and have a soft spot for underdog stories, this film is a must-see. For me, it’s not only a nostalgic trip back to the 80s, but also a true feel-good movie I can rewatch again and again. In short: a small, often overlooked jewel – definitely 5 stars!

A pretty cool little supernatural movie. Has loads

A pretty cool little supernatural movie. Has loads of charm and heart. I especially like the lightheartedness of it's afterlife depiction. A "warm and fuzzy" kind of flick, that's got good pacing and solid retention factor throughout.
