A nice setup to a watchable western. The

A nice setup to a watchable western. The standards for Western 70's movies are really high, and this one doesn't really approach the bar, but is nice for a change of pace. The idea of a man surviving his own hanging was great, but the movie just lacks action yet doesn't really seem all that thoughtful. If you aren't a fan of this genre, "The Hanged Man" won't make you one. If you are a fan of the genre, it's worth a try unless you are stuck up and only like the big names.

Highly underrated western, much better than many others

Highly underrated western, much better than many others. Simple and perhaps underdeveloped plot is very much saved by a brilliant cast.
