It's okay for what it is.

The home video title is Cheerleaders' Wild Weekend. It plays kind like something you would see from a Roger Corman film or perhaps a Crown International release.A bus load of cheerleaders on their way to a national competition is highjacked and held for ransom by a couple of former football players. The guys demand 2 million to release the girls. While waiting to see what happens, the guys put in their own competition for the cheerleaders. This movie has a good share of gratuitous nudity and attractive women. Ann Wharton (Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke) is my favorite! Kristin DeBelle (Alice in Wonderland, Meatballs) and Jason Williams (Flesh Gordon) are here too in this standard B-movie sleeze fest.

Different take on cheerleader exploitation

This is an apparent late 1970's film about a group of "high school" cheerleaders travelling by bus whom gets stopped by a few kidnapped in former football players wanting to use these cheerleaders as some sort of prize. The topic is quite serious but there is a bit of light heartedness along the way.The acting isn't too bad as there are a lot of women cheerleaders displayed. It is certainly more of a feature film than a straight softcore though of course there are few scenes of explicit nudity (including a lengthy "beauty contest" scene as one of the highlights with several cheerleaders forced to strip and prance around- roughly around the 39:00 marker). Then the brief bathroom scene with the nurse and one cheerleader (44:10).The conclusion finale heist scene involving the elevator and how things were set up with the ransom money was well done and quite intriguing. A little bit flawed such as how did they know to get the same exact paper bag as the hostages. In the end it's a decent enjoyable drama comedy for what's it's meant to serve.
