Plot summary

When documentary filmmaker Danny Hart boards a train at Grand Central Station he has no reason to expect anything more than a pleasant ride to upstate New York to interview the subjects for his latest project. But a chance encounter with a mysterious young woman leads him on a journey of a very different sort. Within the blink of an eye his life of complacency is left behind for a world in which the line between fantasy and reality is blurred...a world of intrigue, danger, and the possibility of blood

This may have a simple title, but the story is anything but. The message and plot this delivers had me baffled to say the least, and I can credit this for providing me with a certain degree of writers block if nothing else. What starts out as a man demonstrating stalker like behaviour over a woman who's mystique attracts him on a chance train meeting, soon suffers a role reversal with the seemingly innocent female emphasising a degree of control over him. When their subsequent actions lead to a murder most foul, we're then left pondering who's at fault - Answer? Well that's for you to decide.

This is a film that adds (and succeeds)

this is a film that adds (and succeeds) to add some ambition to the thriller genre. 2 ships passing in the night, romances not taken, or missed depots along the way, places we wish, or should have unboarded, roads not taken, but not all is as it seems. But the film adds some weight with those exact questions and possibilities. What is a lie when it's essentially a truth. How far can we go when lies take on a life of their own? Do we love a person or how a person makes us feel, or can we fall in love with a lie. Behind this is a well-plotted mystery that, like the train in the title, takes along the track of the narrative with an intrigue with a destination at the end of the line. I've seen this film several times and each time it has grown in my estimation and I had high esteem for it from the initial viewing. the actors carry their roles with authenticity, the director hits his target,and in all I rate this film as a little gem.
