Well worth a miss. Deftly walks the fine

Well worth a miss. Deftly walks the fine line between dull and uninspired. Director Steven Smith's squashy fisted approach manages to leach any tension or suspense out of an already boggy script. The actors respond to the ailing direction with listless bewilderment as they chew on the lumpen dialogue as if it were wet toilet paper. The real question is how this film was made in the first place, given how little those involved with the production seem to care. Being disappointed seems way too enthusiastic as a response to this damp handshake of a film.

It's micro budget but this is many standards

It's micro budget but this is many standards above the last version telling the story. Firstly, the acting is exceptional, Harry Price is brilliant as are Julian Sands, Colin Baker, Christopher Ellison and the fabulous Toyah Willcox as Estelle Roberts. Secondly it has some genuine scare moments and a sense of seclusion. It centres around Harry Price's stay in the semi derelict Borley Rectory in 1937. It certainly plays out like a TV film and is really great for the zero budget they must of had.
