I went into this blind without knowing what the plot is actually about, I didn't even watch the trailer for this film, I go huh I'll check this out, I do like indie low budget films so it gets to me. 105 minutes went by, is a slow burn low budget horror comedy about Ricky and Geraldine living in the same apartment complex, talked about themselves and they wanted to do business with the two. The chemistry between Álvarez and Heller (characters) is what really holds everything together. Their back and forth feels natural, awkward, and often genuinely funny in a very offbeat way. The humor lands because it does not feel forced, just a couple of odd personalities bouncing off each other while everything around them starts to spiral into something much darker. Once the horror kick in, the film finds a nice grooves. It is bloody, a little sleazy, and definitely not afraid to get grimy. The kills are creative using practical effects enough to keep things interesting, and there is a rawness to the effects that fits the indie humor perfectly. It is not trying to be polished, and that rough edge actually works in its favor. It was a weird one but make it worth watching.
