Plot summary

Hm. Yes. There is an American flag.

And it might have been filmed in LA. Without permits. On cellphones. For about an hour.Bankrolled by Eurasian mobsters.Because everything about this movie is off. The actors. The accents. The "dialogue". The "plot". It seems like they grabbed a bunch of people backpacking through the Carpathians and forced them to make this movie to get their passports back.Mattel should file action over the use of their intellectual property in this dumber-than-dirt bore-fest.The Final Party?! I just hope that this is the final project that anyone connected to slap makes. Ever.

Surely this was meant as a joke...

Right, well without ever having heard about this 2024 movie titled "The Final Party", from writer and director Bilal Kalyoncu, I still opted to give the movie a fair chance, as I had the opportunity to watch it here in 2026.I virtually had no idea what I was in for, aside from the little information provided by the movie's synopsis. So in a sense, I suppose, writer and director Bilal Kalyoncu had every opportunity to entertain and impress me. But the staggering 3.4 rating that the movie had landed here on IMDb, as of the moment I sat down to watch it, certainly didn't do anything to bolster any high hopes or expectations.The storyline and many of the characters were so poorly constructed and written, and it was difficult to take it serious or find much of any enjoyment about it. And especially the Andre character (played by Elia Berthoud) and his posse of goons and bullies were just so easy to dislike, which I am sure was the whole point of it, so writer Bilal Kalyoncu managed to pull that off well enough. But it was too much, and it was difficult to take the character seriously.The fact that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie. I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were fair.The movie has a pretty terrible collection of music in it, which certainly didn't help make it any more easy to sit through the narrative.Would I recommend you to sit down and spend 84 minutes on watching "The Final Party"? No. Am I ever returning to watch "The Final Party" a second time? Nope.My rating of writer and director Bilal Kalyoncu's 2024 movie "The Final Party" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
