I have to say that I do kind

I have to say that I do kind of admire the movie's commitment to making everything here (from dating, to meals, to BDSM, to work) as boring as possible. That said its maybe a little too long.

The film is so committed to showing you

The film is so committed to showing you how boring the protagonists life is that it accidentally makes the whole film boring. From work scenes to sex scenes to family scenes the whole film is boring and flat. Spoiler alert she finds a decent boyfriend by the end so at least there's that. Every 5 minutes I wanted to turn off this show but I wanted to see how it ends. Not because it was interesting in the slightest it just piqued my curiosity. It was kinda cool how as the protagonist finds some excitement in her life the scenes have more light. At the start of the film everything is very dimly lit and it gets brighter near the end.

Can you call a movie a comedy if

Can you call a movie a comedy if there are no funny moments? When it was shown in a theater, did anyone laugh at any line? Nothing dramatic here, either. An hour and a half of ennui. Even the moments of faint BDSM have no joy or tension. EIther I or the director, writer, and cast needed to up the dose on their meds for this to be worth it.
