Not terrible, but not great either

In 2025, I worked as a ride operator at Lake Winnepesaukah in Georgia. While working there, I met the director of this movie and we became decently acquainted with each other. We share a love for cinema, and we got to talking about his background in the film industry. He gave me a list of movies he had worked on in the past and said he wanted me to watch them, then he briefly alluded to what I'm assuming was this film by saying "oh yeah and I also directed a film once, but you don't have to watch that lol". It didn't seem like he was particularly proud of this project. Having seen it for myself at this point, yeah lol that makes senseThe two romantic leads are honestly pretty solid, actually, they have sweet chemistry and I genuinely liked their performances. It was mostly the story that held everything back. When the inevitable "the lovers get into an argument" scene happens, it left me feeling more frustrated than sad because it legitimately felt like it came out of nowhere. They were perfectly content in one scene, and then he randomly has a problem with her in the next scene. I was actually kind of invested up to that point, but that one scene killed all of that ngl. I guess communication just isn't a thing anymore lol, good to know.
