The Devil and the Daylong Brother is a 2025 low-budget horror comedy that I found more strange and confusing than enjoyable. The story focuses on three brothers on a mission to kill selected people and take a piece of their skin — all in service of the devil. The twist is that their ultimate target is their own father, who originally traded their souls away. The film is filled with deep southern accents and bizarre musical moments — when the killing starts, the brothers break into song. It made no sense and felt completely out of place. It was tough to follow at times, not just because of the thick accents, but because the story seemed to wander and lose focus. Ultimately, this isn’t a film I’d watch again or recommend to anyone. I’m glad I chose to watch it with commercials instead of paying for it, because I would have felt it was a waste of money. It’s a weird blend of horror, musical, and black comedy that just fell flat for me.
