Plot summary
William Friedkin attends an exorcism with Father Gabriele Amorth, as he treats an Italian woman named Cristina for the ninth time. Prior to filming, Cristina had purportedly been experiencing behavioural changes and “fits” that could not be explained by psychiatry, and which became worse during Christian holidays.

During the exorcism, a pitch-shift effect was applied to the possessed woman's voice, which is a dishonest depiction of the event. You can hear the effect ALSO alter Father Amorth's voice at 36:07, 36:35, and background voices at 58:44. Really dishonest for a supposed "documentary". Every time I investigate the supernatural, and start to go deep looking for proof, it always turns out to be fake... and this was no exception. Friedkin seemed more concerned with telling the audience, "I made a popular film in the 70's, remember?" than he was with providing an accurate and honest portrayal of events.
