No. I don’t know who gave this movie

No. I don’t know who gave this movie even a mid score. Nothing made any sense, entire points and people weren’t explained, and the ending was complete crap with nothing else explained again. There was no story here, just some weirdo going in and out of consciousness sucking souls out of people. This could have been a short, not a movie. Straight garbage!

95% Fresh? Who are these critics? This is not the worst movie, but it’s not good. I think there are some kickbacks.

Incredibly effective supernatural/possession story with interesting and sympathetic characters and an imaginative and disturbing plot. There are hints of Lovecraftian cosmic horror instead of the same tired demonic possession trope. The story seems to actually borrow some plot elements from Lovecraft’s “Beyond the Wall of Sleep,” but actually improves on that story, which is one of Lovecraft’s lesser works. The suggestion that the evil entity has been causing death and mayhem throughout history also adds to the sense of awe and dread. The “no one believes the main character and thinks he’s insane” element is handled deftly as well, and we are left with an uncertain ending and only brief hints as to the entity’s back story.
