Plot summary

Sisters Jorie and Kaidon attempt to reconnect over a vacation in the woods after a terrible secret drove them apart. But there is a hidden power in the forest that measures life and death, and this power means to weigh the sister's future against the dark crime from their past.

I caught this indie gem on Screambox and

I caught this indie gem on Screambox and I was blow away by how good this arthouse horror flick was. If you like atmospheric flicks that flow like the grisly poetry of Edgar Allan Poe then 'The Dark Sisters' should be right up your alley. The intricately written dialogue along with the setting, cinematography and music all create a dream-like world full of mystery and wonder. Can't recommend enough!

Fascinating

It's not like any other movie that's out there. An art film, for sure. Also very tense. It moves like a dream, and I think it's supposed to be a dream. With moments of dance and poetry, and also a horror movie weaving through the artful elements. Very low budget and there's a lot that's done here with a tight resource. The movie looks gorgeous overall. And the sundtrack is great. I'd say only watch it if you're looking for something new. This movie wants to be a new type of movie. Certainly not for everyone. Avoid if you're just looking for slasher or found footage. This is something very different. I give it a full ranking just because it's so bold.

nonesense

This film is like a first year philosophy student got really high and wrote on a bunch of napkins. This student will inevitably fail out of the program because they don't actually have the capacity to discuss philosophical ideas in a coherent and logical way. But they still spend the rest of their lives boring people at parties and trying so very hard to sound deep and profound.

I wouldn't bother watching this movie even if your high as there is no amount of drugs that will make it entertaining. If you're someone who finds meaning in generic affirmation you can find on the internet or self help gurus then maybe just maybe this movie is for you dave.
