A young woman is committed to a mental institution after claiming that her newborn has been abducted by a cult. Convinced she is gifted with psychic powers, the woman believes this secret society wishes to harvest the supernatural capabilities that run in her blood. "The Dark Red" is a psychological thriller with a mix of themes that don't always work well together: madness, conspiracy, and revenge. The complex and ambitious narrative succeeds in creating an element of ambiguity that keeps the audience guessing: is the main character a damaged woman who created a fantasy to escape her traumas, or is she a real victim of a powerful cult? However, the transition between themes feels rushed and convoluted, often resulting in an inconsistent narrative.

No way! First off, I’m 99% sure this is a lifetime movie. I watch a movie every day and this is the worst I’ve seen in at least a year. Twist? Give me a break. Finale? A joke. New on Amazon for Halloween. Don’t do it people!

This was a pretty good watch actually. Intriguing

This was a pretty good watch actually. Intriguing horror / thriller with a story which ticks along nicely, and it's well-acted. Some confronting and gory scenes, if you are into violent and gory revenge films, you should enjoy this.
