Suffers many of the more regular problems of its predecessor--used plot devices, some quite specific to Chucky movies or "doll horror" flicks in general, and a general been-there-done-that feel--in addition to other problems, like the piano-only BGM (not effective enough) or simple plot driving, it is certifiably more entertaining, though probably due to its more sinister feeling despite its lack of getting to know the characters too awful well. In fact, it might rank slightly higher if it weren't for some horrible prosthetics/makeup and hamfisted acting at the tail end of the movie, and (I suppose) the attempt to finish with a more blockbuster credits flourish, a huge mistake for this movie's flow.
