the two leads seemed miserable before, after and during death and life. He sorta got mad about his girlfriend dying in a pond and got powers of birds but still seemed pretty down.
The problem with all the remakes is they try to add too much stuff. The simplicity (and lack of exposition) in the original story, that love is enough to bring someone back. No negotiating with spirits on the other side or weird magical evil guys. Once they strip back and keep the story to its core they'll have another successful movie in the line.
YIKES!! This is really bad, bad bad bad... I think it's even worse than the ones that followed after the original Crow, I skipped all the damn teen drama, not even the violence is well done, nothing has a soul in this, thanks anyway
@Rowinium, they explained why Eric and Shelly were killed in the original. They started a petition against some eviction that was perpetuated by none other than Michael Wincott, AKA Top Dollar, AKA the nameless main villain of the film.
I actually liked this moive. While the original is good this is better because you're told why Eric and Shelly get killed. In the original they're killed in a random home invasion but in this there's actually a purpose. Plus in this you get to spend much more time with the characters before they die. I loved that they show how Eric becomes a crow and gets his powers and he's told what's supposed to do. In the original he kinda has to figure it out. Although I didn't really like the end as they leave it open for a sequel that probably won't happen.
I had to rewatch the original to wash this "adaptation" from my brain. I like the actor, but the acting was cringe like a PG-13 film. Just saveing for my collection. Dought I will wath it again soon. Maybe Im way off and I missed something.
@Hermer80 Are you saying that "Scarface 1983" is a cheap copy of "Scarface 1932" or "The Thing 1982" was a cheap copy of "The Thing from Another World 1951"?
