The Color of Friendship (2000) is a surprisingly thoughtful Disney Channel original that tackles one of the world's most difficult subjects—racism and apartheid-era South Africa—with more depth than one might expect from a television film. Based on a true story, the premise alone is compelling: a family expecting to host a Black South African student instead welcomes a white girl raised under apartheid into the home of a Black congressman. While the made-for-TV budget and occasionally lackluster performances are apparent, they never overshadow the heart of the story. The film does an admirable job exploring prejudice, understanding, and personal growth through the eyes of two families from very different worlds. Creative, heartfelt, and educational, The Color of Friendship is one of Disney's more meaningful productions. Easy to get lost in and proof that important stories can come from humble beginnings.

Chorei, dolorido... Filme simples e maravilhoso...
