Plot summary

Tongue-in-cheek look at 20-something singles clubbing and partying in L.A. Voice-over narration, charts and graphs, and visits to a research laboratory punctuate the story of a single night when groups of friends go out, drink alcohol, take drugs, dance and talk, and look for someone to go home with.

I watched this movie in 2020 - it

I watched this movie in 2020 - it simply just hasn't aged well Many aspects of the club life ring true today but the gaudy use of gay bashing and acceptance of rape culture as the norm made it deeply cringeworthy at times throughout the film. It was a cute movie with bright points throughout the film, but be advised that it's perspective on these issues has not withstood the test of time

A mockumentary that's equal parts absurd and honest

A mockumentary that's equal parts absurd and honest. Getting down is an abstract concept and this movie offers insight into the lifestyle. It's far less raw and graphic than K.I.D.S. but shows a similar view of the same culture but in a more comedic fashion with different adult social circles and settings, as well as a variety of personality stereotypes. It's informative and entertaining. The music is really fitting. The characters are intentionally cliche. Don't expect a serious movie because it absolutely does not take itself too seriously. Cameos from Mr. Belding and Meghan Markle. This film has been in my personal collection for almost 2 decades. If you've ever been a part of the party scene I would recommend this movie as it has cultural significance and merit. A true hidden gem.
