Plot summary

Danny wants two things in life more than anything else, one is a Jaguar and the other is Joanna Johnson. After he is conned into trading his Nissan Cedric for a 1973 Jaguar, he plots to win Joanna and get revenge against the sleazy car dealer Gordon Farkes.

Perhaps it was my age when this first

Perhaps it was my age when this first came out, or perhaps its just a great Australian film, but I watched this a lot when I was a young'un. On VHS no less. Re-watching it many years later, it's clear to see why Claudia Karvan became a star and surprisingly I was shocked at how much I'd overlooked Steve Bisley's brilliant performance. It's dated in parts but generally, its a great little film.

Fantastic date movie for every age group. The

Fantastic date movie for every age group. The charm exudes from the players, even/especially from Bisley as the token nasty. Marvelled watching this with my partner alone in the cinema when it was released yet three and a half decades later it’s still screening on SBS Auscult-classique
