Plot summary

Juan lives a solitary existence on a remote farm ever since he witnessed a UFO event. Filmmaker Alan Stivelman—together with the help of famous astrophysicist Jacques Vallée—begin an epic journey to help Juan in understanding the deep meaning of his close encounter. This true story shows the long-term consequences of close encounters, proving that no one is exempt from a potential contact.

I was profoundly moved by this documentary, and

I was profoundly moved by this documentary, and especially how the director helped Juan in many ways to overcome his fears regarding this unprecedented event. The quiet, thoughtful approach, along with the authentic portrayal of Juan's sensitive soul convinced me the story was real and needs to be shared.

One of the best UFO documentaries ever. What

One of the best UFO documentaries ever. What I liked most and where I believe the movie triumphs is it's ability to showcase the personal impact a close encounter of a third kind could have on a human. Alan Stivelman should be applauded for this masterpiece.

Very moving and very well-made. I like the

Very moving and very well-made. I like the low-key, unsensational approach to the subject matter. Is the story true? I doubt it - but it doesn't matter. This film explores some interesting ideas and is emotionally resonant. I liked it a lot. One complaint: I feel the English subtitles could have been better translated - they suffer quite a bit from "translationese", i.e. sounding stilted and unnatural in the target language.
