It's not the best Doris Day movie, but there are themes I liked in this comedic satire, and coupled with fantastic performances from Doris Day and Clark Gable, I enjoyed it.

The columns of this movie are filled with creativity, wittiness, ironically sardonic humor… and Doris Day, of course. It makes the space occupied by words worth the time. The Teacher’s Pet is swashbuckling and diverting.

Very quotable movie. I'm convinced that it's an

Very quotable movie. I'm convinced that it's an analogy of the US political system, a hopeful one. The realist vs the idealist, the proletariat vs the petite bourgeoisie, "the old pros and the eggheads". It's not quite as cutting as a hardcore journalism film, or laugh out loud funny as a slapstick comedy, but it's still thoughtful, enjoyable and intellectually stimulating.
