Plot summary

A lyrical documentary that follows three adolescent brothers as they journey through one night in New Orleans, encountering a vibrant kaleidoscope of dancers, musicians, hustlers, and revelers parading through the lamplit streets. The filmmakers fully immerse us into the New Orleans night, passing through many lively and luminous locations and introducing us to the people who make the city their home.

Part documentary and part guided narrative documentary

Part documentary and part guided narrative documentary - this movie explores both the curiosity of youth and the cultural uniqueness that is New Orleans after hours. Slowly paced and almost poetic visually, it is an interesting experimental film that really defies any genre.

It really does capture the sounds and feel

It really does capture the sounds and feel of nighttime in the French Quarter. If only there were smell-o-vision to capture the aromas (good and not so good) of the neighborhood. The youngest boy, William, is absolutely charming. The glimpses into the bars and burlesque shows were fun. It does capture the way music permeates every corner of New Orleans — especially the amazing street musicians. There really wasn’t a plot to it — just the impressions the boys had as they wandered the French Quarter for an entire night after missing the last ferry home.
