it's good but too depressing for my taste

Outstanding film. Admittedly not for everyone though.

when a movie is THIS powerfully made, 360 to 1080, it doesn't matter. Stop whining. It is way up there with other psychological drama like The Jacket (2005) in that to get really cerebral, intense psychological, abstract, far-out ideas like this to work is really difficult and takes serious directors and producers, and screen writers, not to mention getting the casting right, then talk the studios or financers around to funding them. Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Samantha Morton absolutely excel in these roles. And I loved the way that many of the female characters seemed to morph into variations upon Morton's 'Hazel' character. Kaufman never missed a beat in bringing this into being.

mrturkman...convert it yourself and stop whining!

Must watch. Best active writer Mr Kaufman

This movie, much like Inherent Vice, is one that is quite appropriate to get really high for first. It balances everything out quite nicely, and makes it a much more enjoyable experience, IMO.
