children BS movie

Loved the first 2 acts. Writing and directing are excellent. The young actors are terrific, especially El Fanning. Great job. The whole thing was like Stand By Me meets ET. Except the 3rd act went off the rails with the whole ridiculous monster, the underground cave and finally the space ship. 6/10

This is a really enjoyable, well made film, that kept my attention through out. The writing, the acting and the directing are all first rate. Elle Fanning shows off some serious acting chops, even as a youngster. 9/10

super 8 is a trademark for 8mm video tape the kids used making their home made documentary but unexpectedly caught something else in their video . thats how faicr. nice movie i have to watch it again. stephen king ish

do ppl realize this was made before stranger things?...is a good movie and focused for kids...

I don't understand why people have given 7 IMDb ratings to this movie. It is worth 6 maximum. At least I don't understand why it is named 'Super8'. And believe me, it is just a movie. Another alien came to earth and get caught by the US air force and tries to go back to its planet. That's all. Worth it as a kids movie.

it's okay for a kids movie... some parts are so nice that resembles like in stranger things... but the ending was not convincing enough
