Plot summary

When a brilliant but obsessive scientist goes to extremes to develop a universal cure for all disease, he finds himself infected with a bizarre parasite that begins to transform him into a bloodthirsty madman. Time running out, he must find a way to stop the monster that is growing within and prevent the rest of the world from being "cured."

And that's a pretty high two and a half stars as well. Strange Blood may not exactly elevate the Body Horror genre as a whole, but for B-Movie it's pretty quality. The psuedo-vampire thing is pretty tired by this stage, but at least it's handled in a not *entirely* un-unique way. The leads are capable though not extraordinary and the whole thing could probably stand being about five or ten minutes shorter, but all in all I actually didn't mind the film, where it came from, or where it ended up.

Really cool, does much more with way less

Really cool, does much more with way less than more expensive films *cough*Ex Machina *cough. Also one of the better mad scientist portrayals, on the same note. Strange blood somehow makes a great film with basically a fried turkey w/gills, a director who knows his craft, and two talented actors.
