Plot summary

After a tragic accident caused by the truck of the middle-aged Carl Lee where a woman dies with a crushed stern, he is arrested and sent to the county jail. His son PJ, who works washing dishes and cleaning tables in a restaurant, feels lost, without financial support to keep his father's house, and is fired from his job and evicted from his house.

This film has been sitting in my Netflix

This film has been sitting in my Netflix top 10 suggestions for a very long time until I finally watched it... and holy shit it was awesome! This film was extremely dark and an emotional roller coaster. This indie drama centered around a poverty stricken family and Pennsylvania. "Steel City" is one more spectacularly written and shot indie films I've seen in a very long time. The film was very understated, but so spectacularly written, acted and directed that you always knew what the actors were feeling, what they meant and that there was mutual understanding. And to think, the lead in this film was Tom Guiry. Yes, Smalls from "The Sandlot" and no, he wasn't killing me. It was a truly remarkable piece of cinema and I highly suggest it -- 9/10.

One of the best drama films I have

One of the best drama films I have ever seen. The acting was fantastic. Thomas Guiry has grown up and done so well in this film. John Heard did a spectacular job as well. One of the most underrated films. A must see.

Great indie movie about real life in a

Great indie movie about real life in a real working class town, with realistic, relatable characters. Loved it- this is my kind of movie.
