I know nothing about the sovereign movement but this is more about a guy with a serious mental illness who finds some solace in being part of the sovereign movement.
Another misguided portrayal of history—this time vilifying the very people waking up to reality. It's no secret that institutional schooling often breeds dysfunction, while homeschooled kids tend to be more grounded and ethically raised. This film feels like a hostile attack on public awareness, aiming to suppress critical thinkers and promote blind obedience. Whoever the filmmakers targeted, it reeks of desperation from those who've long manipulated the masses. It's no wonder crime against citizens is rising, with law enforcement enjoying unchecked immunity. Meanwhile, ordinary people face homelessness while trillions in taxpayer money vanish into foreign interests.
Just warning you. This ain't your daddy's Ron Swanson. Excellent performances. A gut wrenching watch and a true horror story.
This is a sleeper, Great film. You don't get to see this side of Nick Offerman much, but he nails the range. If you've ever watched 'soverign citizen' you tube videos where they argue with cops, this is your banger. I wish they revealed more about the origin of these thoughts and it's philosopher, but the end man, that ending, it escalates very quick. AWESOME MOVIE bra. 8/10
Movie about sovtards and somebody in the comments makes a post about antisemitism ...as if that's a real thing LOL
Something in the way of enlightenment. To be honest I was looking for something entertaining so I can't say I enjoyed it
@Zakayo254 Or it's just bait to give DEI trolls something to complain about. Your parents must be proud. Try harder.
Something's lacking...going to the end part, the movie didn't show how the sheriffs found Jerry Kane's SUV in Wellverns parking lot ? The director should have added that plot so viewers won't be left thinking.
When I sat down to watch Sovereignty, I was prepared to suffer through another Hollywood propaganda piece filled to the brim with awkwardly conspicuous “minority” cast members and left-wing political messaging delivered with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. After all, several professional critics on Rotten Tomatoes hailed the film for its depiction of what they call toxic masculinity. (“Sure, Jan.”) But that wasn’t what I saw. Nick Offerman’s “Jerry Kane” is a dead-ringer for every 50-plus armchair warrior on Facebook. Meaning he’s loud, apoplectic, and operates at two speeds: intense and angry. But whereas other directors would be satisfied with a grotesquely caricaturized Kane, under Christian Swegal’s direction, he is full of humanity. You can hate Kane for his short-sightedness, his vices, and especially his gross imprudence with respect to his son’s future; but you can also relate to his frustration with the hundreds of small sociopolitical ropes that bind all of us, here and there, the way the Lilliputians bound Gulliver. And you can and should pull for him every time he shows genuine admiration for his son. On that note— As for the police officers in this film, they are not really portrayed as heroic or monstrous. They are agents of the state. They do their job, and their job is to enforce the law; it is not to be compassionate or lenient or even understanding. This is a lesson for those of us in real life. Some police officers *may* behave in such ways, but it would always be inadvisable for the ordinary citizen to assume that ostensibly compassionate, lenient, and understanding police officers have his best interests at heart. They don’t. Which is why, in the end, despite all his faults and paranoia, Jerry Kane truly is more sympathetic than the institutions he battled.

"DunderMifflin August 14, 2025 at 11:17 pm Sovereign citizens and MAGA. Idiots." I enjoy The Office too, but YOU hard-alt-far-left-communist-p3d0-nazi-democRATs are the idiots. Conflating sovcits with MAGA (Make America Great Again) is moronic, since those people don't want to be citizens, plus there are just as many of them that are non-white (the 'moorish nationals) as are white, bub.
