Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

Watched on Prime, I really enjoyed this film

Watched on Prime, I really enjoyed this film especially because it was filmed in my home state. It was very violent and dark. I can confirm that the Cajun accents were real and the life of these Cajuns was authentic. There was a scene where the Cajun says let the good times roll or Laissez les bon temps rouler. This phrase is used a lot now in Louisiana. I wonder if this is where it became popular? Also sad to see one of my favorite beers Dixie in the movie. Someone decided to change the name of it recently, and after that they went out of business. Overall a really good older movie that still holds up today.

I actually really like the setup for Southern

I actually really like the setup for Southern Comfort, and even more so how it works as an allegory for Vietnam—that’s easily the strongest part of the film. Unfortunately, once you strip that away, you’re left with a pretty generic and, at times, painfully slow survival thriller. The characters are better than your run-of-the-mill survival cannon fodder, and the Louisiana bayou makes for a really cool setting. But overall, it just drags for way too long in my opinion. It’s a solid watch, but it didn’t totally blow me away.
