Plot summary

Southern Baptist Sissies is the live film of the GLAAD Award winning play by Del Shores. Southern Baptist Sissies is the story of four boys who are gay growing up in the Southern Baptist Church and how they each deal differently with the conflict between the teachings of the church and their sexuality.

As a recovering sissy Baptist, I recognized many of the scenes and deeply felt the emotions played out on the stage. This is a very thoughtful, deep expression of the process of growing up in a Baptist church. Excellent acting, singing. You will feel all the feels...laughter and tears included. Cathartic!

Having grown up in a small Southern Baptist

Having grown up in a small Southern Baptist church in the 60's and 70's I now consider myself an atheist due to their very special Christian love aka hate. I did enjoy the show very much and the performances were spot on.

Great job mixing the struggle between and homosexuality and religion. A must see for those who need a reminder that you are OK just the way you are.
