Plot summary

Sooryavanshi is a high-octane action entertainer that delivers on the thrills but often goes overboard with its over-the-top sequences and melodrama. The movie sticks to Shetty’s tried-and-true formula of explosive action, slow-motion hero entries, and dramatic confrontations. Akshay Kumar fits seamlessly into the cop universe, bringing his trademark energy and flair to the role. His chemistry with Katrina Kaif, while not a focal point, adds some lighter moments to balance the intensity. Special appearances by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh as Singham and Simmba inject energy into the second half, providing the fan service expected from this crossover. The action sequences are grand and meticulously choreographed, but the film often sacrifices logic for spectacle. The story, while engaging, feels predictable and stretches plausibility with its exaggerated heroics and overly patriotic undertones. The humour, a staple of Shetty’s films, is hit-or-miss, sometimes disrupting the film’s serious tone. While Sooryavanshi doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it remains watchable for its star power, energetic action, and larger-than-life presentation. If you’re a fan of masala entertainers, it’s worth a watch, but be prepared to embrace its excesses.
