Perhaps it takes a person of a certain

Perhaps it takes a person of a certain age to appreciate this movie. Tearjerker. Losing a spouse. Facing mortality. Family estrangement. Redemption. And a cast of old people!! :) Yes, the choir portion of the story, though entertaining, is cliched, but the choir is not the key part of the story.

Unfinished Song is an okay film. It is

Unfinished Song is an okay film. It is about a grumpy pensioner pensioner who honors his recently deceased wife's passion for performing by joining the local choir. Terrence Stamp and Gemma Arterton give decent performances. The script is a little slow in places. Paul Andrew Williams did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture. I liked the motion picture because of the humor and drama.

I enjoyed this a lot, watching on Britbox

I enjoyed this a lot, watching on Britbox, UK title for this movie is "song for Marion". It's a family movie, not afraid to be sentimental, a lot of familiar tropes, but well put together. Basically, an old husband, a grumpy old man (Terrence Stamp) accompanies his wife, ill and wheelchair bound (Vanessa Redgrave), to her beloved musical choir activities, and has a difficult relationship with his son who has a daughter. The choir leader (Gemma Arthurson) coaxes him to join. Through the magic of music, grumpy old man recovers his humanity and his relationship with his son. The performances were superb, particularly by Vanessa Redgrave, who was lutterly radiant, despite her advanced years, Terrence Stamp did a very good job of portraying a grumpy Grizzled old man who loves his wife, but has been worn down by the long years of caring, and doing nothing much else, Gemma Arthurson added excellent youth and vigour. Christopher Eccleston did a good job of playing the adult son worn down by his father‘s irascible behaviour. Very good choice of songs added to the tearjerker the writer/Director wanted, especially "True Colors" and Billy Joel's lullaby "Goodnight my angel" repurposed.
