Plot summary

Locked up for a minor crime, 19 year old JR quickly learns the harsh realities of prison life. Protection, if you can get it, is paramount. JR soon finds himself under the watchful eye of Australia's most notorious criminal, Brendan Lynch, but protection comes at a price.

Ewan McGregor inhabits a very believable and intimidating

Ewan McGregor inhabits a very believable and intimidating criminal in this intelligent heist movie. Points also for keeping his Scottish accent, it's almost as if Mark Renton from trainspotting skipped out and bought a new life in Australia. Even with some formulaic turns and minor plot holes this movie delivers the goods, convincing vignettes and action sequences and real criminal relationships, grudges, guts and all. Would definitely recommend for fans of Ewan and Australian cinema, there are better heist movies and criminal portraits, but this is worth a watch.
