Soft Love was truly an unexpected joy to watch.I was expecting something cheesy, and maybe even a little low budget looking. This was not the case! It was refreshing, realistic characters, and beautiful. I loved the wardrobe, the sets, the art, and most of the characters.I also thought some of the relationships were just really well done. The sibling relationship, the relationship of the main characters romance and the sisterhood between the besties.I highly recommend this film for anyone looking for a laid back, beautiful, fun, yet challenging romance on film.

Soft Love (2024), directed by Holmes Awa, is a compelling romantic drama that delves into the complexities of love, heartbreak, and personal growth. The narrative centers on Zandi Jele, a South African relationship specialist who becomes disillusioned with love after being abandoned on her wedding day. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Edward Obi, a Nigerian photographer grappling with his own romantic challenges. The film's strength lies in its authentic portrayal of the protagonists' emotional landscapes. Cindy Mahlangu delivers a nuanced performance as Zandi, capturing the vulnerability and resilience of a woman rediscovering herself. Efa Iwara complements her as Edward, bringing depth to a character striving to overcome past wounds. Their on-screen chemistry is palpable, making their evolving relationship both believable and engaging.Visually, Soft Love is a treat. The cinematography beautifully showcases the rich landscapes of South Africa and Nigeria, enhancing the storytelling with vibrant and evocative imagery. The soundtrack further elevates the viewing experience, featuring soulful tunes that resonate with the film's emotional beats.Supporting characters, particularly Zandi's witty friend, add layers of humor and warmth, providing moments of levity amidst the drama. However, some characters, like Amaka portrayed by Dorcas Fapson, could have benefited from more development to fully realize their potential within the story.Overall, the movie offers a heartfelt exploration of love's trials and triumphs, making it a worthwhile watch for those seeking a nuanced romantic narrative.

If this was a serious movie, I might have considered it, but it's comedy meaning a bunch of nonsense scenarios, so pass.
