Plot summary

After losing a custody battle, perpetual teenager Wayne Stobierski steals his son away for one last father-son weekend to the city of their dreams - Milwaukee, Wisconsin. What's supposed to be a light-hearted adventure soon transforms into a journey of profound redemption.

Accurate right down to the pickles on the

Accurate right down to the pickles on the counter. I expected a smaltzy Hollywood depiction of Wisco--but how the hell would they know that?! Good story. The Wisco accents not too far off--for northern wi.

It's not breaking any genra barriers, nor is it a new story by any means, but it doesn't have to be. The simple, grounded nature of the film allows the amazing cast to shine. Sure it's not flashy, but it's well shot, acted, scored, and put together. One of the best father-son movies I've seen, kind of like if The Persuit of Happiness and The Straight Story had a baby. 95/100
