Plot summary

Incredibly indolent cop Tomokawa spends his time making fun of his mentally challenged friend Sukemasa, riding his bike all over the city and sleeping with married women. But his whole world changes when he meets Yoko.

One of those films that sits with you

One of those films that sits with you for a long time afterwards. Deals with such taboo material (at least by North American standards), an adult cop falling in love and having a sexual relationship with a 15 year old girl. But instead of demonizing the characters--something you'd expect in the hands of American film-makers--the story is sympathetic, erotic, but not without consequences to the characters. Intelligent writing with strong indictments of contemporary society's superficial morality.

Pretty much a Japanese take on the story

Pretty much a Japanese take on the story, Lolita, with a few extra twists. It did a fine job in telling the story it wanted to. Nothing spectacular tho.
