Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea sounded like it was

Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea sounded like it was going to be another gripping documentary, but it never held my attention the way I expected. The real-life tragedy is undeniably heartbreaking, and I feel for everyone involved, but the storytelling simply isn’t engaging enough to carry the emotional weight of the events. Instead of building suspense or drawing viewers into the experience, the documentary often feels slow and repetitive. I also wish it had included more relevant footage connected to the incident itself. Too much time is spent on unrelated home videos and family clips that, while personal, don’t add much to the overall narrative. The documentary had an opportunity to create a more immersive and compelling retelling but never fully takes advantage of it. Overall, Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea isn’t a terrible documentary, but it’s one I found surprisingly dull. For me, it’s the weakest entry in this collection and one that never reached the emotional or dramatic impact

Decent storytelling by the survivors, but the show

Decent storytelling by the survivors, but the show devoted only maybe 5 minutes to WHY this happened and they pretty much defended the captain lol. They didn't even mention that he executed an unauthorized sail-by-salute that led to the accident and instead blamed some unknown helmsman for not speaking English or something. I've never seen a documentary leave out the most crucial information of the story the way this one did.

It starts off really good, they keep you

It starts off really good, they keep you wanting to know more and it flows well for a bit, but then it loses itself on only giving us a few points of view which really don’t flesh out the chaos. The production team should’ve made this into a two-part series in order to flesh out the before and then after the disaster. I would’ve loved to see more of the captain’s trial and families reactions, but it ends so abruptly that I was left with more questions than answers and I looked it up on Google. There are probably better documentaries about this on YouTube which I will look into.
