Plot summary

Liam Liu unwittingly gets involved with a high school girl. He suddenly has to go to China after learning from his father that he has inherited his grandmother's home in Shanghai. He's not very appreciative of his Chinese roots, and at first, only wants to sell the house and get back to the U.S. as fast as possible. He gets a taste of the Chinese culture and ends up having some big decisions to make.

The lighting in this movie is well placed

The lighting in this movie is well placed making for a beautiful image experience. Actors are cute and cuddly giving a smooth acting profile that portrays a characterization that is fun and authentic. Locations are a little bland considering the cities visited so this is more about the focus on the human aspect which lessens the visual quality. Nibbles: Peking duck and Pancakes.

I don't know why I enjoyed this film

I don't know why I enjoyed this film so much I guess because of its feel good nature. The cast are wonderful, even Panettiere in a weak character role seems to pull it off. The actual plot seems a little wrong, older guy and quite young girl making a connection, but by the end of this film you forget the age difference and see only the chemistry between these two characters and actors. Ken Leung was amazing in the lead and played his role flawlessly, he drew me into this story. The screenplay is great, a beautiful blend of humour and drama make this a wonderful romantic dramedy that brought many a smile to my face. The story is honest and realistic (maybe bar the ending) and it wont be long before I watch this one again. Highly recommend this charming film.
