Plot summary

The acting in the movie was decent at

The acting in the movie was decent at best and the filming process was rushed. The costumes were ill fitting and poise of characters was lacking. I would have found it more favorable if the posture was more classic, the costumes were cut properly and the storyline had time to build.

A lovely period adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense

A lovely period adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. It's interesting to see The Hallmark Channel attempt historical fiction. (I enjoyed their Sense, Sensibility and Snowmen as well as Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe, which are basically Jane Austen novels interpreted as Hallmark Channel Christmas Romance movies.) This one borrows some ideas from Bridgerton, of course, as many of these historical adaptations tend to these days. Some of the acting is exaggerated for comedic effect. And the costumes are fairytale inspired. The music attempts to reinterpret modern songs with classical instruments (ala Bridgerton). But overall, the story is true to Jane Austen's characters, plot and theme. It's a successful interpretation of a beloved classic and an entertaining watch. Do recommend.
