A spell awakens an ancient evil, triggering a collective hysteria of demonic possessions that takes over a group of orphans. These possessions are over the top, chaotic, devilish and immensely bloody! A stylish love letter to "Evil Dead".

i'll be honest, right away i was like "what even is this" - there's some pretty good jump scares, but the painted-white skin & black guck coming out of mouths was way too over the top; looked clownish. i looked up other reviews while watching & someone compared it to Evil Dead which changed my perspective entirely. i loved the rest of it. it's a great watch if you go in with proper expectations.

There is a lot to admire about both

There is a lot to admire about both of these films. There are enough effective creep out moments and jump scares that you'll definitely have a good time, especially watching with a group. But after awhile, it really becomes too much, and the scares get less effective because you become numb. Both films are a half hour longer than they need to be. This second film also introduces more digital effects which are not integrated very well - feel like early 2000s Resident Evil movie level effects. I can marginally recommend for the fun factor, but keep expectations low overall.
