Plot summary

In this modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, Elinor and Marianne find themselves penniless after their father’s fortune is taken away. As they look for ways to pay the bills, they encounter people who judge them and try to keep them down in the dumps. Add falling in love into the mix, and determining whom to trust becomes a mine field. Can the sisters find a balance between relying on their hearts and using good sense without losing everything they hold dear?

This movie is actually terrible. It's a waste

This movie is actually terrible. It's a waste of two hours of your life that you can never get back. Halfway through I was thinking to myself that I must be sadistic for continuing to watch it. I'll be more specific- it's poorly acted, it's a promising storyline but delivery falls extremely short, and it's basically WASPs falling for other WASPs who should have been rich and privileged but their dad got arrested. So of course, the handsome lawyer and banker fell in love with them so they could support them for the rest of their lives. No thank you. I don't mean to turn this into a race issue but it's certainly a majority issue. The truth is the country is becoming more diverse and we're tired of seeing Barbie and Ken all the time.

I love a good Jane Austen adaption

I love a good Jane Austen adaption - but this isn't one. It's incredibly forced and so far removed from the source material its a wonder Jane Austen herself isn't resurrected in fury.
