Plot summary

A bit fake and funny, but I very much enjoyed nonetheless. It's a film that flits between the ancient past and modern day and it's done well. There is lots of flying in this, typically Chinese style. Great Jackie Chan stunts.

I just rewatched it after more than ten

I just rewatched it after more than ten years and I must say it did not live up to my expectations. I remember it as really good but rewatching it is confusing. As a cynical adult I just don't buy she fell in love with general jackie so the emotional core falls apart fast. the different clear cut sections of the movie don't mesh well and the flow is a nightmare. The villian is constantly saying how good jackie is and I have no idea why, and also his motivation is paper thin. anyways this movie deserves the 3.5 because it was an integral part of my childhood, my dad used to show it to us when we visited him. good times.
