Plot summary

25 years later after the events of Samurai Cop (1991), Detective Frank Washington is forced to team up with his long estranged partner Joe Marshall to solve a series of assassinations being committed by a secret group of female vigilante killers.

The inherent problem with Samurai Cop 2: Deadly

The inherent problem with Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance is that it lacks the sincerity that the original film had. Amir Shervan was trying to make a good film but ultimately failed on every spectacular level. Here, director Gregory Hatanaka goes out of his way to cram EVERY possible reference to the first film that he could into its bloated run time. This sequel is almost too self-aware of itself and ultimately tries too hard to be a bad movie rather than achieving the same result with competent earnestness. Tommy Wiseau's cameo sums it all up. It's nice to see most of the original cast back once again but that's about as far as any form of praise this film deserves, the film is an absolute mess and not even an entertaining mess, more of a chore to sit through. Even if you weren't a fan of the original film, Samurai Cop 2 is hardly going to win anyone over, it's just a depressing experience.
