Plot summary

Sam is fifteen, orphaned, hiding a secret and has been living in foster care for the past year. Her Aunt Olina is a widowed, recluse oddball who spends her life in a closed off home speaking to her dead, taxidermies dog Elvis. Together the two learn to overcome the obstacles life has dealt them, trust one another and become family.

Worthwhile independent Family drama centering on a pregnant

Worthwhile independent Family drama centering on a pregnant teenager in foster care going to live with an estranged aunt. Has the potential to be sappy yet the story has ample laughs and the cast holds the story together with believable characters you care about.

Subtle nod to Military tradition

The subtle nod to military tradition in the cemetery scene was appreciated and helped define Larry's character. I'm sure not everyone understood it but for some of us it was touchdowns explained Larry's relationship to Molina and Bud. Pen url did a nice job with the character.
