Plot summary

Sicilian bandit Salvatore Giuliano's bullet-riddled corpse is found facedown in a courtyard in Castelvetrano, a handgun and rifle by his side. Local and international press descend upon the scene, hoping to crack open the true story behind the death of this young man, who, at the age of twenty-seven, had already become Italy’s most wanted criminal and celebrated hero.

Great landscapes, intense scenes of oppression, resistance and also pointless violence, and a bizarre organization that keeps you on your toes - and at the end I am still not quite sure who Giuliano is (as in, when he is alive, when he appears in the movie).

A waste of two hours and four minutes

A waste of two hours and four minutes of my life. Will not be seeing another Rosi film ever. I already bought Christ Stopped At Eboli from The Criterion Collection, but that will be my second and last Rosi. He is not i the first rank of directors by a long shot; why waste time on stuff that's not goig to add artistic or philosophical value to one's life?
