Ether has to be some kind of energy

Ether has to be some kind of energy. Or the music itself is the ether, and that's why it is described as such an escape. Depending on the album, the ether changes meaning... That's why at the end of the movie they explain what kinds of ether there are. Makes sense honestly. Decent little movie about Japanese teenagers who basically have mental breakdowns. Simple enough. The cinematography was really cool, reminded me of how Raising Arizona has that fantastic camera that chases the protagonists around like crazy. When they cut to the handheld camera, I honestly lost track of what was happening. That one scene featuring Shiori was pretty terrifying though. Her secret shame that made her Hoshino's prostitute. I do agree a lot with Roger Ebert, but I also understand that when he started reviewing films, The Graduate starring Dustin Hoffman had just released. Needless to say, he was NOT the target demographic. That silent shot of Tsuda lying there at the bottom of the tower is definitely upsetting. Fine film. 4.5/5 stars, I just wish the message was easier to decipher.
