Another wonderful slice of working class life from

Another wonderful slice of working class life from Ken Loach. This time it is centered around a building site in North London. Some really funny scenes, notably... Ricky Tomlinson's venture onto the fourth floor and the mobile phone call. Anyone who worked a dead end job can relate to this flick and Karl Marx himself could have written the script.

Mid-era Ken Loach flick with Robert Carlyle known

Mid-era Ken Loach flick with Robert Carlyle known from "The Full Monty" in the lead. He is taking jobs as he can, earning a few quid just o make it go round. he has some noce coworkers as pals, but they come and go often so there is nothing permanent. Little is permanent in his life in general, accept bad jobs and a living in a mess. Good acting and some nice characters - a shame the coolest one dropped out of the film half way in. It's a drama comedy - and well balanced on that matter. The topic is very Loach, the film is very Loach. I found it pretty good, but some solutions and turns end up in ways I don't like and I kind of felt few thing where in place when it ended. 6 out of 10 construction sites.
