Plot summary

The whole movie wasted an hour and a

the whole movie wasted an hour and a half of my life, definitely do not recommend for anyone who has actually played the game, as this is a recreation directed by a man whose never played it.

The hate this film received is massively overblown

The hate this film received is massively overblown. Although it changes a lot from the source material, this is clearly Christophe Gans’ own interpretation of Silent Hill 2 rather than a direct adaptation. Accept it on its own terms instead of constantly comparing it to the game it’s loosely based on, and you may find yourself having a great time like I did. The performances are strong, the foggy town looks incredible, the monster design is genuinely unsettling, and Akira Yamaoka’s music ties it all together beautifully. It captures that eerie, melancholic Silent Hill atmosphere far better than Revelation ever managed. Not perfect, but visually striking and much closer to the spirit of the games than it’s given credit for.
