I hung out with him in an NYC studio in the mid 90s where I was working and he was developing new talent. He even invited me to his own studio to lay down some drum tracks over loops but I never made it due to changes happening in my life at the time. It's amazing how much more a death impacts you when you've personally interacted with someone. He was such a nice, friendly, humble, and of course wildly talented person. RIP JMJ.
