Plot summary

A heartwarming tale about the turning point in the life of an elite business man in his fifties and a local train that has been running since 1911. Hajime is in line to be the next head of a prominent electronics company. He toils day and night over his work and has no time for his family. But one day, his mother in Shimane falls ill, and his best friend dies in an accident. Grief-stricken, Hajime returns home, where memories of his childhood dream come back to him. He had always wanted to be a train conductor and drive the local "bataden" Ichibata Electric Railway.

It gave me something to think about. I believe this movie set out to entertain and inspire and I felt it succeeded. A surprisingly good movie considering I had little knowledge on the movie's genre before seeing it.

This is a story about a 49-year-old man dreaming of becoming a train driver. I was so encouraged to follow my dream by this film. You get only one life. Follow your dream!

This was a very impactful movie although slow

This was a very impactful movie although slow going at first, it slowly drew me in with its storytelling and style. I truly enjoyed it and am going to add it to my list of favorite movies watched of all time because it's a lifechanging movie that inspires me to follow my dream as well. Thank you so much to whoever directed or had the idea for this film.
