Plot summary

In 1908, eighth grader Alma Richards quits school to work as a ranch hand. A chance meeting with a professor motivates him to resume his education, leading him to compete in high jump at the Stockholm Olympics and win a gold medal.

You're just a three-dressed up as a nine, you're only wasting my time LOL. It was super cheesy, super corny. Painfully slow at times but it was a good overall story if you have the patience.

I watched this movie on an airplane and

i watched this movie on an airplane and was attracted to the based on a true story aspect. About 15 minutes in, it was clear that the dialogue was pretty wooden. But, you know you got nine hours on a plane suddenly your standards adjust. The story is compelling and enjoyed learning about Alma's life. But, the writing lacked a sense of reality. When confronted with the evils of drink, smoking, and bad girls at the Olympic site, Alma never wavers. If I were at home would I watch it? Maybe not. But it was a nice way to pass the time and it all wrapped up neat and nice.
